Introduction

I recently purchase a new set of headlight for my VW Polo. Below are the procedure taken to replace my headlight bulb.

1. Remove 2 locking screw on top.
2. From inside, knock headlight assembly slightly outward towards front.
3. Pull out gently to front and side, the headlight cable have some extra length.
4. Remove rubber cover.
5. Rotate the bulb holder 45 degree counter clockwise.
6. Remove the holder from headlight assembly.
7. Pull out the bulb.
8. Insert new bulb into the holder.
9. Insert holder into headlight assembly.
10. Rotate the holder 45 degree clockwise.
11. Test the new bulb light up.
12. Put back rubber cover.
13. Insert back headlight assembly.
14. Insert locking screw into top bracket and tighten.

By eliminating this free gap, vibration to the car chassis & undercarriage will greatly reduce. This helps to protect & prolong the car undercarriage parts life span.  From the picture you can see the bolt used to tighten the sub frame and the car body has a gap in between. This will cause the sub frame and body to be misalign and thus lead to a handling problem and produce noise on the uneven road surface. The uneven contact surface in between chassis and subframe will further produce spring effect and this will compromise the car handling.

With the Stiff Ring in proper place, the gap is filled up to stop the movement of the sub frame and the car body forever and provide ideal alignment between both, as a result of a perfect geometry setup. Uneven surface is filled up by Stiff Ring, thus, spring effect is remove and resulting a comfortable cabin even further improved the car stability.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 1. Remove the OE airbox lid according to the service manual.
 2. Remove the OE air filter by holding the airbox lid and turning the air filter counter clockwise. (Fig.1)
 3. Install the K&N® air filter by lining up the tabs on the bottom of the filter into the open slots of the airbox lid. (Fig.2)
 4. Tighten the K&N® air filter by holding the airbox lid and turning the air filter clockwise until it stops. (Fig.3)
 5. Install the airbox lid according to the service manual.

Removal for Air filter Service:
 1. Remove the OE airbox lid according to the service manual.
 2. Holding the airbox lid, turn the K&N® air filter counterclockwise.

VW Polo 1.2TSI EPC, TC and Engine Check Light

Dear Friends, I experience another episode of EPC, TC and Engine Check Light yesterday 24/2/2013. These long story to share my experience.

Background story:
28/1/2013-Wife complained that EPC, Traction Control (TC) and engine check suddenly light up. Engine suddenly lost power during drive. RPM limited to 1000-2000 only.
29/1/2013- Service Center full. Tried around KL and Selangor. Turned down by all SC.
30/1/2013- Managed to book appointment with Federal Auto PJ SC. The mechanic informed that my Polo ECU and DSG still in old version 1.0. I objected that i did the update last time in July 2012 in Jln Ipoh SC. Mechanic said maybe Jln Ipoh SC lied to me. They updated the software and DSG. Problem solved until yesterday.
24/2/2013- I was driving around 30-40 kmph, when suddenly the EPC and TC light up. Car runs normally, but i stop to the side, just in case. Turn off and start the engine again. Now only CHECK ENGINE light up.

Immediately i return back to my house. I insert the OBDII dongle and run TORQUE app on my android phone.

25/2/2013- Engine Check Light still there. Drive the car from Seremban to Klang. I feel the gear change a bit sluggish. Manage to book appointment with CNB Auto SC Klang tomorrow. Will keep you all updated. Wish me luck.

26/2/2013- In the morning Engine Check Light is no more. My wife bring the car to SC at noon, and cannot find any error in the car. SC confirmed that all software is updated and advise me to come to SC immediately if the problem occur again. Even told my wife to not turn off the engine. BASKET!! Every time i have problem and call any SC, you all said bay full. Come back later tomorrow.
